Privacy Policy
Personal data (hereinafter mostly referred to as "data") are processed by us only within the scope of necessity and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly internet presence, including its contents and the services offered there.
According to Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, namely the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR"), "processing" refers to any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction.
With the following privacy policy, we inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of personal data, as far as we alone or jointly with others determine the purposes and means of the processing. Additionally, we inform you below about the third-party components we use for optimization purposes and to enhance the quality of use, insofar as third parties process data in their own responsibility.
Our privacy policy is structured as follows:
I. Information about us as the controller II. Rights of users and data subjects III. Information on data processing
I. Information about us as the controller

II. Rights of users and data subjects
With regard to the data processing described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right
- to confirmation of whether data concerning them is being processed, to information about the processed data, to further information about the data processing, and to copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);
- to correct or complete incorrect or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);
- to the immediate deletion of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 GDPR), or, alternatively, if further processing is necessary according to Art. 17 Para. 3 GDPR, to restrict said processing per Art. 18 GDPR;
- to receive the data concerning them and provided by them and to transfer this data to other providers/controllers (cf. also Art. 20 GDPR);

Moreover, the provider is obliged to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed by the provider about any correction or deletion of data or the restriction of processing, which occurs due to Articles 16, 17 Para. 1, 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding, the user has a right to information about these recipients.
Likewise, under Art. 21 GDPR, users and data subjects have the right to object to the future processing of data concerning them, provided that the data are processed by the provider in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct advertising is permissible.
We have provided a form for this purpose, which you can find here.
III. Information on data processing
Your data processed during the use of our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage ceases to apply, the deletion of the data does not conflict with any statutory storage obligations, and no other information on individual processing methods is provided below.
User contributions in the form of events, offers, and requests
We offer you the opportunity to create events on HopHub. Here, we process the name of the event, the end date, the email address provided during creation, and the description text. Events are permanently deleted no later than 30 days after their end date and are no longer visible one day after the end date.
Furthermore, we offer you the opportunity to publish offers and requests on our website. Here, we process and publish your name/pseudonym, the specified location including the corresponding geocoordinates, the means of transport, and the description text. Additionally, your email address is stored but not publicly displayed. If you provide your telephone number, it will be stored and published. The posts will be permanently deleted no later than 30 days after the specified time and will no longer be visible.
To enable contact between users, we offer a contact form for each offer and request. Here, we process your email address, the specified pseudonym, and your message. This data is forwarded to the email address of the creator of the offer or request and is not stored in our database.
HopHub has no influence over how the data is used by the creator of the offer or request. By using the contact form, you expressly consent to the forwarding of your data to the creator of the offer or request.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future according to Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR. To do this, you simply need to inform us of your revocation by deleting the event or the post.
Furthermore, we also temporarily process your IP address because we have a legitimate interest in initiating or supporting further steps if your contribution infringes the rights of third parties and/or is otherwise unlawful.
The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the possibly necessary legal defense.
Server Data
For technical reasons, especially to ensure a secure and stable internet presence, data are transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our server provider. These so-called server log files collect information such as the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you switched to our internet presence (referrer URL), the website(s) of our internet presence that you visited, the date and time of your access, as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which the use of our internet presence was made.
This data collected is temporarily stored, but not in conjunction with any other of your data.
This storage is based on the legal foundation of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality, and security of our internet presence.
The data will be deleted after no more than seven days unless further storage is required for evidence purposes. Otherwise, the data is wholly or partly exempt from deletion until the final clarification of an incident.
jsdelivr.net-CDN
To optimize the retrieval speed, design, and presentation of the content on our website across different devices, we use the service jsdeliver.com, a Content Delivery Network ("CDN"). This is an open-source service provided by Prospectone Sp.z.o.o., ul. Krolweska 65A, 30-081, Krakow, Poland.
To quickly deliver the content of our website, the service uses so-called JavaScript libraries. This involves loading corresponding files from a third-party server that captures your IP address. We have no control over whether your IP address is processed by third parties for statistical purposes.
Prospectone Sp.z.o.o. offers further privacy information at https://www.jsdelivr.com/privacy-policy-jsdelivr-net.
The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in speeding up the loading times of our website and in its optimization.
To prevent the execution of JavaScript code from jsdeliver.net altogether, you can install a so-called JavaScript blocker, such as noscript.net or ghostery.com. However, preventing or restricting the execution of JavaScript code may technically result in not all content and functions of our website being available.
Maptiler
This website uses the map service MapTiler. The provider is MapTiler AG, Höfnerstrasse 98, Unterägeri, Zug 6314, Switzerland.
Purposes and Legal Basis for Data Processing
The MapTiler service allows the display of mapping material on our website. The integration of the mapping material serves to improve geographical representation and to simplify the search for offers and requests. The IP addresses of MapTiler Cloud visitors are stored for a limited time and then automatically destroyed. The collection and temporary storage are necessary for logging security-relevant activities on the MapTiler infrastructure. How you use the map itself is not captured by MapTiler. Further information on data protection by MapTiler can be found at: www.maptiler.com/privacy-policy/index.html.
The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the graphical representation and the simplified location of our office locations.
Transfer to a Third Country
Insofar as personal data are transferred to MapTiler's servers in Switzerland and stored and further processed there, the basis for the transfer to a third country is the adequacy decision of the EU Commission for Switzerland. This certifies that Switzerland offers a level of data protection equivalent to the EEA standard.
Plausible Analytics
We use web analytics to collect statistical information about the use of our website. This data is essential to continuously improve our web presence. The protection of your data is very important to us. Therefore, we use Plausible as an analysis tool. In contrast to other trackers such as Google Analytics, Plausible deliberately avoids the use of cookies and does not store any personal information, neither in the browser nor on Plausible's servers. Only general information such as visited pages, used browsers and devices, and the geographical origin of users are evaluated. Detailed information on the data collected can be found in the Plausible data policy. The software is provided by OÜ Plausible Insights, located at Västriku tn 2, Tartu 50403, Estonia.
